Detox and Cleanse

A lot of new diet plans are introduced nowadays. Keto, Vegan, Paleo, Mediterranean, and others are some of the famous diet plans that most people are trying to adapt. Each is curated to help reach a goal. To lose weight, improve immunity, and skin condition, better sugar control improve heart conditions, and most of all improve one's overall health.

In all the diet plans introduced to the public, detox and cleanse are what seem to be the most promoted (though not emphasized) methods.  Like Vegan Diet and Low-Carb diet, vegetables promoted in this diet, are high in fiber and vitamins, leafy green vegetables, broccoli, and cauliflower, fruits that are antioxidants, like apples, blueberries, and strawberries.  Which are great for detoxification and cleansing.

What is Detox?
Detoxification ( also known as Detox)  is eliminating toxins from your body, which largely helps us improve our immunity. Commonly practiced by people who want to lose weight, reduce cravings for sweets and fatty foods, and fight hunger.
To learn more about Detox, I highly suggest reading articles about Detox from Learn & Thrive.

How is Detox done?

- Drinking fresh fruit and vegetable juices, water, and tea is one of the most common ways to do detoxification.

- Reducing intake of alcohol, coffee, and sugar.

- Fasting for 1 to 3 days, depending on your health condition, is also recommended.

- Reducing to eliminating meat and other heavily processed foods and sweets.

Cleanseis done in a shorter period of time, and its main focus is our gut and digestive health. When you feel bloated or having difficulty with your number 2s, Cleanse is what you need to do. It helps eliminate toxins and cleanse your digestive tract. Most cleanse lasts between 2 to 7 days, depending on your need.

Whichever diet plan you choose to adapt, Detox and Cleanse are methods that go hand in hand. These methods are both done using fiber-rich foods which help in cleaning our digestive system to prepare our body before starting on a new diet plan. It ensures that our bodies are well adjusted to receive a reduced amount of carbs, or protein.

Always remember, before starting on a new diet plan, it is important to research and understand what the diet plan is all about. Set a realistic timeframe to reach your goal, and consult your dietician and physician for recommendations on which plan to take that is compatible with your health and body needs.
