Proteins; Great Food for Healthy Eating

Since the pandemic Covid-19 started, eating healthy became vital not just for our mothers, but also for our young adults. Most of us have been aware of the food we shared with our family. Most tried diet plans that are appropriate for their physique and lifestyle. Others decided to go vegetarian and others chose the keto diet.

Whichever diet plan you settle on, an appropriate quantity of vitamins and protein is always important. To be healthy and to work as needed, your body requires protein. Protein is also a key component for your body to work properly. According to studies, eating a high-protein diet can help you lose weight, and maintain your target weight as well. So whether you are a vegetarian, or love to eat meat, but would like to lose weight here are my top 5 foods to eat;

Chicken Breast:

Poultry,(especially chicken breast) is one of the most popular high-protein foods. The leanest portion of the chicken is the breast. Three ounces of skinless, roasted chicken breast has around 27 grams of protein and calories of 140 grams. Studies suggest that eating chicken can help you lose weight by consuming high-protein diets. The same advantages are nonetheless evident if beef is the major source of protein.

Chicken is also a good source of vitamin B6, selenium, phosphorus, and a major source of niacin.

Fish:

Fishes like Tuna, Halibut, and Tilapia, are rich in Omega-3, fatty acids that are good for the heart. Also, fishes have selenium, which can boost cognition and fertility. Selenium plays a crucial function in the metabolism and in safeguarding our bodies against infection.

Beans and Legumes:

Aside from its fiber-rich, legumes and beans are also high in protein and are good sources of healthy fats. Beans and legumes are great alternatives to meat if you are a vegetarian. Learning how to properly soak beans and accurate proportions of servings, will allow you to eat beans and legumes every day.

Greek Yogurt:

Yogurt is a high protein source. A cup of plain yogurt contains approximately around 8.5 grams of protein. Yogurt, (flavored or plain) is rich in nutrients and has a creamy texture which makes it perfect to mix with fruits and nuts..

Eggs:

Eggs are a great source of vitamins, healthy fats, minerals, and antioxidants that protect our and other nutritions that our bodies require. However, if you have allergies please consult with your dietician and physician before including eggs or any poultry in your diet.

There are other protein-rich foods in the market that you can try. However, if you opt for shakes or healthy meal alternatives like smoothies and protein drinks, always check with your physicians for the right amount of intake to ensure you get the right amount of protein daily.
