Crispy Fried Okra Recipe

Ingredients:**

- 1 pound fresh okra
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

1. Wash the okra under cold water and pat it dry with a paper towel. Trim off the stem ends and cut the okra into 1/2-inch slices.

2. In a shallow bowl, mix together the cornmeal, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until well combined.

3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Make sure the oil is hot enough for frying (around 350°F).

4. Working in batches, coat the okra slices in the cornmeal mixture, shaking off any excess, and carefully place them in the hot oil.

5. Fry the okra until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried okra to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

6. Continue frying the remaining batches of okra, adding more oil to the pan if needed.

7. Once all the okra is fried, sprinkle with a little extra salt and serve hot as a delicious and crispy snack or side dish.

**Note:**
You can customize the seasoning in the cornmeal mixture to suit your taste preferences. Feel free to add cayenne pepper for a spicy kick or experiment with different herbs and spices.

Enjoy the crispy goodness of fried okra as a delightful appetizer, side dish, or snack that will surely impress your taste buds!
