An Alternative Way to Earn.. Affiliate Marketing

The year 2020 has been a difficult year for most of us. and it seems like mother Earth is not calming down anytime soon.  Sadly due to unforeseen circumstances like the ongoing pandemic, most companies have closed down, leaving their employees jobless. Working and earning the usual way became a challenge to many, especially to those who are very much accustomed to going to the office every day.

With COVID19 pestering most of our normal routines and hindering us from earning the usual way, the internet has somehow, given us hope and a new ally to start small businesses and earn without leaving the comforts of our home... or should I say our beds.

While most people turn freelance and offer virtual services,

some opened their "Online Shop" that features their passions' output and products.

The virtual marketplace immediately became congested that everyone seems to be selling and

offering the same thing, using different platforms. And for someone who is looking for

a way to earn online, why not take advantage and earn from it.

Now, this is where Affiliate Marketing comes in.

Statista (https://www.statista.com),

a reliable source of information in market research, trade publications,  and others,

stated that "business spending on affiliate marketing will hit $8.2 billion in the U.S by 2022.''

And with the current times that we are in, learning and making

Affiliate Marketing work for you is one of the best moves you can take NOW.

What is Affiliate Marketing? Affiliate marketing is promoting other

companies’ products with the use of a link. This link is called Affiliate Link,

this link allows you to earn a portion of the sales or a commission

whenever someone buys an item through your affiliate link.

Affiliate marketing allows you to earn from different eCommerce platforms.

You can promote different products from different brands and companies and earn commissions.

How does it work, you asked?

You can do affiliate marketing almost anywhere online.

I find Facebook and Twitter to be the best tools to use in doing it.

But first here are the steps to take before you can start Affiliate Marketing, I promise,

I will keep this as simple as possible, I will be leaving the technical part for another post ;

1. Get affiliated with a merchant or any eCommerce platform to get

a unique link that you can use for affiliate marketing. eBay, Amazon,

and other merchant platforms offer affiliate programs.

2. Decide on which website /platform you want to get affiliated with

(you can sign up in as many platforms as you want, but I recommend signing up to a

maximum of 2 to start with, and see which platform works best for you).

Simply signup for a free account from any of the websites I've mentioned,

verify your account, and scroll down to the bottom of the Home Page and find the word "Affiliate",

from there you will be able to learn more about the affiliate program being offered by the

said website (you will find a lot of these sites as you become an expert in AF).

3. Choose a niche and a product that you would like to promote.

I find it easier to promote those products that I buy myself and I hope to buy in the future.

4. Now, decide on an affiliate program to work on. After deciding on a program,

and agree to the chosen platforms' terms and conditions, you will be provided

with a unique link that you can use to post on your Social Media accounts,

Youtube Channels, and even on your blog.

How much can you earn from doing Affiliate Marketing? I'd like to say unlimited,

but that will be too good to believe, and I like to keep it realistic,

so I guess the best answer is, it depends on the niche you choose to focus on,

and just like any other work, it also depends on how much effort you put into it.

Committed affiliate marketers have earned 5 to 6 figures, only by posting their

Affiliate Links on their social media platforms and via Facebook ads.

It helps a lot if you can promote your affiliate link so when someone

clicks it and purchases an item using your affiliate link, you get a portion of that sale.

Also, building your audience helps to increase your affiliate sales.

You can use different channels for these; a YouTube Channel and

a Blog is one of the channels you can utilize. (Let's talk more about this in another post).

Just a tip, use a blog, and a Facebook page is also highly recommended because

I find these channels give a higher probability of clicks than a video uploaded on Youtube.

What affiliate programs are best for those who are just starting to learn about Affiliate Marketing?

When I was starting to learn about A.M, I find it easy to work with eBay affiliate programs.

They offer a variety of easy-to-promote Low-paying, High-volume; affiliate programs.

By the way, please keep in mind that there are different types of affiliate programs

that you can choose from, let's talk about the 2 programs that I think are best to start working with;

- High-paying, low-volume affiliate programs, which means that you can get a high commission

for the product you promoted, but only a few people/businesses

usually tend to buy these products, products in this type of Affiliate programs are software

(like IQ Option (https://rb.gy/glxwyz),

programs, and CRM. Sometimes, office spaces and large products like boats.

Usually business-related products.

-  Low-paying, high-volume affiliate programs are more on consumer products like

Shoes, Bags, and home decors. Affiliate Programs like this are

mostly offered by eBay, Amazon, and similar platforms.

The amount of earnings is usually single-digit per sale.

Roughly around 5 to 6 USD per sale.

However, since the products in the program appeal to the masses,

finding an in-demand item will be the major game-changer.

Choosing the right affiliate program and targeting the right market can

determine the success of your affiliate link. If you choose to work with

High-paying, low-volume affiliate programs make sure that you are targeting the

right market, which is businesses and corporations. Make sure that you can reach the right

industry and personnel. Using LinkedIn and other professional websites

will help you bumped into the right target market. However, if you choose to work with

Low-paying, high-volume affiliate programs, finding the right product, and targeting a specific

type of audience will be a big help. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram,

and other casual social media platforms are the best to use aside from your blog and Youtube.

There are other ways you can take to promote and increase your affiliate sales.

Paid Traffic, SEO, PPC, Callouts or Call to Action, and others that will need

your technical expertise, we will touch on these in another post.

Remember, whatever the affiliate program and method you choose to increase your

affiliate sales, always remember that consistency and dedication are your best weapon

to succeed in Affiliate Marketing.
